First up this morning is John Bowron, who, although not a newbie to the world of process automation (having spent over 27 years in it so far), has recently assumed the position of vice president of Yokogawa Corporation of America, and is responsible for sales and marketing. He proudly announced that David Johnson has been promoted to President and CEO of Yokogawa Corporation of America, which, as a waggish Yokogawa employee noted, is the first time a gaijin has ever been trusted so far. Shu Kaihori, former CEO, has returned to Japan to take up duties as senior vice president of the industrial automation group. This means that YCA has two inspiring and aligned leaders in Johnson and Bowron…something they have truly needed. (Not that Kaihori isn’t inspiring…)
Although Bowron threatened to begin the morning Japanese-style, leading us in jumping jacks, he refrained and instead noted that seven years ago the first YCA user group had 45 attendees total.
