Jim Pinto’s blog has another very interesting post that takes time to read and digest– but that is well worth the time. His post “Transition to a very different Future,” begins:
More than ever before, the world seems to be poised for rapid change. Only dreamers expect a return to the “good old days”. More and more people are beginning to recognize the naiveté and inadequacy of the present social order. There is an awakening acceptance that many of the old icons are being broken beyond repair and a new age is being ushered in.
Jim takes a look at Technology Acceleration, Biotechnology Revolutions, Human Cloning, Chimaeras, Life Extension, and notes that the Future is Not Pleasant…but there are Soft Solutions, and that he remains basically optimistic that we will figure a way forward that doesn’t involve societies and distopias like the Hunger Games.
I hope he is right. I really hope so.
