Just announced by ISA:
ISA EXPO 2007 Returns to Houston
Research Triangle Park, NC (27 April 2006) — ISA announced today that
ISA EXPO will be held at the Reliant Center in Houston, Texas in 2007.
The event is the largest unbiased venue for automation professionals to
hear about technology developments and applications; attend
comprehensive training programs; see trend-setting hardware, software,
and services; and network with thousands of professionals from around
the world.
“After surveying our members and customers, we determined that Houston
will be a great venue for the 2007 event. Feedback from exhibitors and
attendees indicated an interest in holding next year’s event in Houston
again, primarily due to the convenience of the facility and the city.
The exhibitors noted the diversity of professional interests and
industry backgrounds of typical attendees to be broad and helpful in
gaining relevant insights,” said Ken Baker, ISA President.
ISA EXPO has been very successful in multiple host cities, and Houston
has typically attracted a particularly large audience for the technical
conference and training programs. The number of exhibitors, diversity
of products and services displayed, and numbers of attendees are all
factors when comparing host cities for a particular year, and ISA has
found Houston to be one of the best destinations for its annual
conference.
Ian Verhappen, ISA EXPO 2006 Technical Conference Chair added, “We have
been very pleased with our ability to attract the best minds in the
automation community in organizing our 2006 program in Houston. I’m
pleased to have been appointed to again organize the technical
conference program in 2007 and delighted that Houston will be the venue.
In both 2006 and 2007, we’re expecting a broad range of industry
professionals attending the conference program. Our goal is to ensure a
top-notch, premier conference program that enhances the technological
expertise of our attendees and exhibitors.”
Houston will be the host for ISA EXPO 2006 during 17-19 October 2006 and
for ISA EXPO 2007 during 16-18 October 2007.
In other words, ISA has finally figured out that Chicago, et al., are now really bad venues for process automation. Too bad for the ISA sections in those cities who depend on their part of the take for eating money when the show isn’t coming around.
Betcha ISA never again leaves Houston.
