When I was a young man, just starting out in the business world, somebody told me, “You won’t make friends with everybody you work with.”
That’s been true enough over the past thirty-something years. But often, I find people who are sympatico enough to become personal friends.
One such is Erik Rasmussen, who is leaving his post at Honeywell for a job with his father-in-law’s HVAC company that Brian Chapman, his boss, says “was an offer too good to refuse.”
Erik is quietly competent…and more than that, he understands the business of making sure that editors get the information they need to do their jobs well, without errors, and in a speedy manner.
I am going to miss Erik as a professional, and I sincerely hope he stays in touch as a friend.
Good luck to you, man.
