From the department of "Ginny Again…"

December 4, 2006 by Walt Boyes

Ginny Burrell came back to talk about some of the Main Points Invensys Wants Their Customers to Get:

The World’s first Enterprise Control SystemPerformance Services including cyber security auditsWireless including wireless auditing and consulting servicesEnterprise asset management– Avantis integration with YOUR ERP systemKPIs at a glanceA Major commitment to both FDT/DTM and EDDLThe tablet PC product”Legacy system integration in a day”device relationship management for remote proactive maintenanceTriconexNew stuff from SimSci Esscor, who is celebrating its 40th (!!!) birthday

Then she turned to an explanation of the nTAG nametag system we’re all supposed to be using here.
nTag
While kind of big brotherish, it is a cool technology. For a bunch of technology geeks, it is lots of fun, although I think it is really a technology in search of something real for it to do.
You can “beam” your business card to somebody else, although it takes two or three times as long to do it as to assume the position and hand them one. It has a simple agenda, but doesn’t let you drill down to find out WHEN the specific talk you want to go to is, or where. It also weighs a half pound, so we’re all running around looking like hunchbacks.
