MCAA: Why should an end user care?

May 22, 2006 by Walt Boyes

MCAA is the “user group” for the vendor community. This year is one of the first times end-users have been invited to talk. So, why should an end-user care?
This week, the discussion is about best practices…how to best serve the customer…because serving the customer correlates to unity with achieving profit goals. So, look at this report with the eyes of the end user.
Starting it off…
Gregg McCall, vice president of marketing called the meeting to order and introduced the keynote speaker, Steve Sonnenberg, president of Rosemount Inc.
Emerson Process Management and the Emerson Management Process
“Here’s a disclaimer,” Sonnenberg said. “Emerson doesn’t have a corner on best practices. I confess to being a little intimidated talking about my best practices in front of my competitors and I’m intimidated by the number of years of experiencein this room.”
After which, Sonnenberg launched into a tour-de-force presentation that explains from the inside what I was trying to explain a few weeks ago in this blog: “Why Emerson Always Wins.”
